Pillion riding banned in Punjab Province during the 9th and 10th Muharram.

CHAKWAL: The procession of 6th Muharram ended peacefully on Wednesday as it marched on its traditional route. Fool proof security arrangements were made for this occasion. In the meantime Punjab Govt. has banned pillion riding on the motorcycles for 9th and 10th Muharram. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Maj. (R) Aazam Sulaiman also imposed section 144 in all the 36 districts of Punjab Province and various measures have been adopted to maintain law and order situation in the province. There would be no assembly of more than 5 persons taking out processions was also banned and only those processions which had a license and approval of the competent authority would be allowed. This order has come into forthwith and will remain in operation during the month of Muharram and till further order.
