CHAKWAL: Chairman Defense Production Senate Committee Lt. Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum said on Saturday that govt. is making serious efforts for the uplift of education in the country however private sector is also contributing a lot and this the reason that the literacy rate is enhancing and it is encouraging that Chakwal Distt. Has a literacy rate of 84.6% and Chakwal has the top 4 postitions in the literacy rate throughout the country. He was speaking at the cash scholarship distribution among the 20 talented girl’s students of Govt. College for women Chakwal. Khalid Parveen Trust provided Rs. 5,000 per student and Rs. 1 lac was dispersed among the students. DPO M. Haroon Joya was the chief guest on this occasion while Raja Mujahid Afsar,Trustee Kh. Babar Saleem Mahmood and Madam Principal Maqsooda Sulatana also spoke on this occasion. Trustee Kh. Babar Saleem Mahmodd told that Khalid Parveen Trust is established in the line of Mahmood Maryam Nasir Sarwat Trust which contributed more than Rs. 20 million among the thousands of students of Govt. Post Graduate College Chakwal for their financial assistance from the last 36 years. Khalid Parveen Trust is established in the name of activist of Tehreek-e-Pakistan Khawaja Khalid Saleem Mahmood (late) and his wife Parveen Rahat (late). Kh. Babar further told that the Trust would provide more than Rs. 5 lac per annum in near future to provide financial assistance to the intelligent, talented and deserving students of Govt. College for Women, Chakwal. DPO M. Haroon Joya also paid rich tribute to the heirs of Khalid Parveen Trust as they are doing a wonderful job and promoting education in the society. The founder of Chakwal Chamber of Commerce Qazi M. Akbar, Syed Muneer Haider Shah, Humayon Aslam, Raja Ali Ejaz, Safdar Awan Waoola, Mamtaz ul Haq, Professor M. Khan Hastal, Ch.
