CHAKWAL: Chairman Defense Production Senate Committee Lt. Gen. (R) Abdul Qayyum said on Saturday that civil-military strengthen relations is the guarantee of democracy therefore to get maximum positive results from CEPEC relations, all the state institutions must act according to their limits and provisions, Pakistan has taken off and its economy is improving, energy crisis is going to be ended by the end of this year, therefore all the political parties must put their focus on constitutional electoral reforms to ensure the coming general election fair and transparent. He was talking to the senior journalists who called on him at his residence village Padshahan and journalist congratulated Senator Abdul Qayyum he along with his family performed Hajj. Gen. Qayyum further told that the unity of PML (N) must be the priority of our leaders and there is no doubt about this that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif are the best political leadership available at present. He was of the view that strong democracy is the future of Pakistan; therefore everyone must have to give his share for the strengthening of democracy in the country. Gen. Qayyum further told that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is a cool customer and he was confident that civil-military relationships would be improved. Responding to another question Gen. Qayyum told that Sharif family must defend the allegations leveled against them in the court of law. He further told that Lahore and especially NA-120 is the strong hold of PML (N) and preliminary survey confirmed that PML (N)’s Kalsoom Nawaz has an edged on Dr. Yasmin Rashid of PTI. Gen. Qayyum further told that the defense committee of senate would call on Chief of Army Staff at GHQ on 18th September.
