Chakwal: Thousands of vehicles and more than 5000 activists of PML (N) lead by Chakwal’s Parliamentarians went to Mandra to welcome ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The biggest rally was from ex-Distt. Nazim Sardar Ghulam Abbas, Shahryar Awan MPA, Chairman Distt. Council Tariq Aslam Dhulli who gathered at Dhudial and then proceeded towards Mandra. MNA Major Tahir Iqbal, MNA Sardar Mamtaz Tamman and MPA Sardar Zulfiqar Dulha jointly lead their rallies towards Mandra. Ch. Haider Sultan representing his father MPA Ch. Liaqat Ali Khan and mother Begum Iffat Liaqat went to Mandra from their public secretariat. Chairman Distt. Zakat and Ushar Committee Sultan Raza Jami lead the rally from Jami house Bharpur. Provincial Minister Tanveer Aslam Sethi started his journey from Sethi house and proceeded towards Mandra. Mehwish Sultana also lead a rally from Sultan House Choa Saiden Shah. The roads and streets of Chakwal Distt. were sounded with the slogans “Qadam Barhao Nawaz Sharif, Hum Tumharay Sath Hain”. The enthusiastic workers were carrying banners, play cards and party flags and they were chanting slogans “Wazeer-e-Aazam Nawaz Sharif”. When these processions entered into Mandra at GT Road the whole Mandra and both sides of GT Road were blocked. All the processions from Chakwal reached Mandra by 5 PM and they had waited for Nawaz Sharif for hours there. The arrangements for the participants of the rally were very little and the workers faced great hardships as there was no shelter and arrangements of drinking water was made at Mandra for them.
